With its gourmet dining, art, music, culture scene, walkability and river fun, we are not surprised that Travel & Leisure Magazine 2024 has named New Hope as one of America’s Best small towns and also Bucks County the #1 fall foliage destination in the US. We couldn't agree more!
Kelly and her team of Fox and Hound Innkeepers are experts on Bucks County and have years of experience helping guests get the most out of their getaway. They can curate and organize your perfect customized vacation.
Fun Fall Activities
You should plan for at least a four-day visit to take it all in. Here is a small “autumnal taste” to whet your appetite:
Covered Bridge Tour
Bucks County is one of the birthplaces of covered bridge-building in America and is known for its unique collection of these cherished timber structures sometimes called "Kissing Bridges". Take a Self-Guided Driving Tour to marvel at them and the beautiful countryside roads dressed in Fall colors. Ask the innkeeper for some yummy home baked treats to take with you on your tour.
View 100+ Festive Scarecrows
Peddler’s Village is celebrating 45 years of its Autumn tradition of its Scarecrows Display through October 27th. Over 100 handmade scarecrows line the brick pathways of the festively decorated Village. Some are inspired by famous characters, some are humorous, some are scary – but all of them are very entertaining and you can vote for your favorite scarecrows.
The innkeepers can direct you to more super fun places for Halloween entertainment and scares in Lambertville and New Hope including hayrides, apple picking and making smore's around a fire.
Art Galleries
You can easily spend a full day or more visiting New Hope and Lambertville's art galleries, art festivals, exhibits, museums and flea markets. Some favorites are New Hope Arts , Michener Art Museum, Cross Pollination Gallery, Red Tulip Gallery, and many others. Or, take a drive up river
on the most scenic road to arrive at Frenchtown's ArtYard and dine at a recommended gourmet restaurant.
The Fox and Hound 1840s breakfast room has a significant collection of art by a well known local artist that guests can view during their delectable breakfast each morning or throughout their day.
Outstanding Gourmet Restaurants
Dining in one of the excellent local restaurants is an important part of the bed & breakfast experience. There are over 70 nearby restaurants to choose from. Exclusively for our guests, we have a curated a list of the best restaurants that we can recommend for your preferred dining experience- river views, romantic atmosphere, best cocktail bar, BYOB, vegetarian, tapas, historic buildings, American or international fare.
Cider Tasting
At Manoff Market Gardens & Cidery, you can discover the unique flavors of Bucks County’s local hand-crafted hard cider (my favorite!) and shop homemade indulgences like locally sourced apple butter and delicious jams. The Cidery is open Monday through Saturday 10-5:30 year-round with live music on select Saturdays.
Outdoor Sculptures- There are 48 outdoor sculptures throughout New Hope and Solebury that you can spot or purposefully seek out. Our B&B also participates in this exceptional public art program with a sculpture on our grounds. Program by New Hope Arts
Goat Hill- A short uphill hike for fabulous views and photos of the Delaware Valley in its fall splendor.
The Fox & Hound Native Intentional Meadow is in its inaugural year. The first of its kind in New Hope, the meadow will change with each season however, this year is the first year so you will be able to see it in its very first stage of inception.
Often described as having the perfect or "Goldilocks" location, the Fox and Hound B&B, with its 10 minute walk into town, yet nestled on 2 acres for more of a country feel, and our free and private parking right next to inn, is the perfect place for your New Hope Fall getaway experience.
