Lisa - We have an array of many outstanding gourmet restaurants in New Hope and Lambertville, all with their own unique atmosphere and cuisines. Kelly, Trish, Esther and I keep up to date on the restaurant scence and we can share with you our current list of recommended area restaurants and even help you choose the perfect one- whether, cozy or elegant, American or international, lively or romantic.
Kelly - I had a friend visiting from Boston last winter and one of my favorite things that we did was tour Fonthill Castle in Doylestown. It was built in 1908 by a Bucks County native, Henry Chapman Mercer, who was an archeologist, collector, and tile maker. The castle and Mr. Mercer’s tile collection are impressive, and the docents are super passionate, making the tour very entertaining with their stories. I recommend making an online appointment to schedule a tour which costs $15.
Trish - If you’re looking to explore your artistic side, I highly recommend the “paint and sip” classes at “Painting with a Twist” this winter. It’s just a short drive from our Inn and offers a variety of morning, afternoon and evening class times. You can check out their schedule of paintings which include a Winter Wonderland, a Galentine’s Day Lovely Ladies and a Paint Your Pet class. This is also a great idea for a "Girl's Getaway" trip to New Hope.
Esther – A little known fact is that there are over 30 local breweries within driving distance of the Fox & Hound. The Bucks County Ale Trail, which showcases a diverse selection of over 22 local breweries, invites visitors to immerse themselves in craft beers. There is an Ale Trail Passport to earn points toward free merchandise and discounts at breweries and to facilitate your exploration, a printable map is available online to assist you in navigating your journey. Or better yet, ask one of us innkeepers to schedule a driver for your brewery exploration day.
