Fox & Hound Innkeepers

A Season of Gratitude

We are so delighted to express our sincere gratitude to our wonderfully loyal guests. You are why we do what we do! One of the things that we are most proud of here at the Fox & Hound is that we have a very large number of return guests. We marvel at the glowing reviews and are genuinely pleased to see returning guests walk back through the front door for second, third and more visits.

This Thanksgiving and always, we hope that you feel greatly appreciated and will embrace this season of gratitude with us. There are so many benefits to being thankful. The scientific proof says it is just plain good for you! Here are a few facts we thought we would share with you:

  • Gratitude improves both your physical and psychological health. Copy of Guestroom Diary Entry
  • It opens the door to more relationships.
  • Grateful people sleep better.
  • It improves self-esteem.
  • Thankfulness reduces stress.

So, with very full hearts, we thank each of you, our “Premier Guests”, for making our job so delightful and rewarding.

Now.... We would like to introduce a new feature to our monthly blog that will give you great ideas for your next visit to Bucks County:

Your Innkeeper Insider Tips

(Plus, What Our Innkeepers Are Thankful For)

Picture of inn owner, Lisa

Lisa - When I was a child and sad or upset about something, my grandma would always say “Let’s count your blessings” and we would count them out together and after the first few I would feel so much better and the problems I had before counting seemed small. Today I have so much to be grateful for - I love bed & breakfast getaways and the opportunity to provide this relaxing, memorable experience for others is a dream, not to mention the absolutely wonderful people I get to meet: our guests! In addition to these many blessings and of having family and friends, I am also grateful this year for being able to turn a ¼ acre of the Inn’s lawn into a native wildflower meadow that will attract and help butterflies, birds, the local community, sequester carbon, and offer a unique and special place for our guests to relax and explore the meandering meadow path.

Lisa’s Insider Tip: I have been to a few of the Crossing Reenactments at the Washington Crossing State Park and they have been quite exciting to watch. There will be two this year- Sunday Dec 8th and Wednesday Dec 25. The Crossing Reenactment | Washington Crossing Historic Park  The celebration is on the Pennsylvania side and I like to watch the actual crossing of the reenactors from the bridge.

Picture of innkeeper, Kelly Kelly – It’s been a year and a half since I moved to New Hope from CA to manage the Fox & Hound, and I am so grateful to Lisa & Michael for giving me the opportunity to be a part of such a unique bed & breakfast in one of the most beautiful areas in the country. I am thankful for all the wonderful people that I have met here in the northeast who have so enriched my life, all the grand adventures I have been blessed to experience, and most certainly, I am thankful for good health.

Kelly's November/December Insider Tip is a must-see theatre production of Anastasia at our famous Bucks County Playhouse. Lauded as a “Sweeping Musical Adventure”, Anastasia has all the makings of the perfect winter evening out. It begins November 22nd and runs into January. Picture of Innkeeper, Trish Trish - In addition to the blessings of my precious family and friends, I am so thankful for the opportunity that Lisa and Michael have given me to share my passion for baking with our guests. I love working together with Kelly and Esther on composing menus and recipes that our guests fully enjoy, in addition to accommodating our guests with special dietary needs to allow them to enjoy treats, as well.

Trish's Insider Tip: Delight your senses as your eyes dance from decadent confection to confection and the aroma of rich, premium chocolate envelops you. There are not many other scents that can stop me in my tracks like that of chocolate and stepping into Pierre’s Chocolates, located just up the road from the Inn, is a treat not to be missed. A box of their elegant chocolates makes a great gift to take back home for just about anyone and, even better, having a box awaiting you and your special someone in your room here at the Fox & Hound provides an indulgent and blissful experience.

Picture of Innkeeper, Esther Esther – From the very start of my educational journey, I've been searching for an opportunity to grow my passion for hospitality. When I stumbled upon The Fox and Hound over the summer, I instantly knew I had discovered my perfect opportunity. My time so far as an innkeeper under Lisa, Kelly, and Trish’s incredible mentorships has been exhilarating. I’m genuinely thankful to be growing in such a vibrant and uplifting environment, surrounded by amazing people who radiate positivity!

My tip for traveling to New Hope during the Fall/Winter season is to experience the breathtaking views of the falling leaves and the start of winter’s magic throughout New Hope. Aboard the New Hope Train, you will encounter a journey through the stunning landscapes that PA has to offer. The New Hope Railroad has several excursions to pick from including a Wine & Cheese Pairing, a Speakeasy Train, Private Caboose Rides, and a winter exclusive, the Santa’s North Pole Express Train.
